To breathe new life and extra pizazz into a typical 1970’s condominium, steps were taken to open up the existing architecture into a predominantly open floor plan, promoting an overlap of functions and maximizing a sense of spaciousness, despite the modest usable square footage. The central light and airy “public” space is contrasted by darker, cozier “private” spaces, with certain design elements carrying throughout the project to anchor an overall sense of cohesion (continuous wood flooring, a specially curated and coordinated furniture collection, etc.). The final result is a home exuding capaciousness without losing a strong sense of comfort.
